Now, there's a face that's been through a lot in the last few years, and I'm not talking about from terrorists, Chinese prisons or nuclear bombs. What's taken place in my mind required much more endurance from the bloke than any of those mere distractions.
If Christopher Meloni is my sexual ideal, Jack Bauer would make the ultimate conquered male.
Once again, sigh, I appear to be alone...surrounded by a sea of women who think Jack's super sexy, and just can't wait to be thrown onto a bed by him. "Oooooh, take me Jack, take me. Rip my bodice off. Be my Fabio. I'll just lie here while you do it."
Blech!
I'm sorry, did I say that out loud? I didn't mean to. My kink is not your kink and your kink is okay with me, really. If your kink is having sex with Jack Bauer with him on top instead of having him tied up and very sore from an afternoon's punishment before you mount him and use him solely for your pleasure, if that's your kink, go right ahead. Just seems like a waste to me.
All right, if you've watched 5 1/2 seasons of 24, and completely missed that Jack makes the ultimate conquered male, I'll help you along with a few pictures. Be sure to play his voice saying "I understand", softly, over and over again. This is what he says every time he's called to sacrifice himself for the country....instead of "I understand, Mr. President", substitute your own name. After all, once he meets you and you conquer him, he'll transfer all of that self sacrifice and devotion solely to you.
(Try to recall the submissive eye thing that he does when he's sacrificing, he lowers his eyes in deference and speaks softly...sends me straight over the edge.)

Oh dear. That last image is rather strong isn't it. Some times you have to be cruel to be kind and honestly, I promise you that not only did he eventually learn to endure the act that caused such a strong initial reaction, he now begs for it.

The Fine Print
While I am insanely attracted to Jack Bauer, I've not the least attraction to Kiefer Sutherland. He seems like a nice enough guy, but doesn't do a thing for me, go figure. I think part of it is height. From what I've seen, Jack is a good 6 inches taller than Kiefer is.....and in way better shape.
Also, Kiefer giggles. My men do not giggle.

Ha ha. I don't even watch this show but, yeah, that'll do for me. You sold me.
Does he get tortured?
Somehow I knew he would be your type. ;)
Yeah, he gets tortured pretty much once a season for an hour (episode) or two...but he spends more time doing the torturing of the Bad Guys while Serving the Great Cause. This is okay because it makes Jack remorseful and needing to pay to even out the universe, yes?
24 is a great addiction. I watched the first four seasons on DVD in a "catch up" session that lasted only a couple of months. 24 hours per season, that didn't allow for a lot of bathroom breaks.
The current season broadcast in the US is my least favorite, and terribly disappointing as I haven't had a single skin shot yet. (Kiefer gave up drinking and worked out quite a bit, I was so hopeful that they'd strip Jack naked with just a little blur in order to show off all of the work Kiefer has done..but nada.)
Anyway, highly recommended overall, especially for those with a sense of humour. The writers do come up with some awfully implausable situations...humour and unabashed lust get me through pretty smoothly.

Jack Bauer's soldier mentality has masochistic qualities, certainly. He'll suffer without complaint for his country and (a distant second) his loved ones. Come to think of it, is that masochism or just stoicism? They're not the same thing. A masochist suffers for its own sake; a stoic endures, incidentally to some other purpose.
But he's primarily a sadist. A sadist in denial, really. That's why he's so disquieting compared to the tradition of masochistic heroes.
Hi Peter -
Oh bother, we don't have to talk about what's *really* going on on the show do we? I like *my* version. :) Look, I have pictures to "prove" it and everything!
I'm not 1000% positive Jack is a closeted sadist, but I've certainly thought about it. He doesn't seem to flinch from giving pain, as a traditional hero would, but I think it's hard to prove that he enjoys giving pain or seeks out opportunties to give pain, they just seem to arrive nearly every hour.
His main motivation in everything he does is service, as I see it. And he has no boundries, in that service. That's why it's not much of a leap for me to take a wee twist on whom he is serving (hey, howabout, let's make it, I don't know *me*?)....and put the "no boundries" part on what might fancy my interests.
Still, your point is taken, and I'm not sure I disagree with it.
